How to turn your website into a source of quote requests

A practical guide for service businesses: what to put on the first screen, what a good quote form asks, and small changes that bring in more leads.

Many service businesses have a website that looks fine and brings in almost nothing. Visitors arrive, look around and leave, because the site never asks them to do anything, or asks too much too early. A few changes usually fix that.

Put the quote form on the first screen

Don’t hide your main action behind a menu. The first thing a visitor sees should say what you do, where you do it, and give them a way to ask for a price right there. Everything else on the page supports that one action.

Ask in small steps, not one long form

A form with twelve fields feels like work. The same questions split into four or five short steps feel easy, because each step is one simple choice. Start with the easiest question, such as the type of service, and ask for contact details last, once the visitor is already invested.

  • Step 1: what do you need? (one tap)
  • Step 2: size or scope, such as the area in m² or the number of machines
  • Step 3: how often or for how long
  • Step 4: where
  • Step 5: name, email and phone

Every lead then arrives with the details you need to price the job, so your first reply can include a real number instead of more questions.

Offer WhatsApp as well

In many markets customers prefer to message. A WhatsApp button with a pre-filled message, such as “Hi, I’d like a quote for office cleaning”, turns a hesitant visitor into a conversation.

Small things that matter

  • Speed: most visitors are on a phone. A slow page loses them before it loads.
  • Local pages: one page per service and per area helps you appear in local searches.
  • Real proof: real client names and real photos. Invented logos and statistics do more harm than good.
  • Fast replies: a lead contacted within the hour is far more likely to buy than one contacted the next day.

Examples

APEKCLEAN in Belgium and Shaheen Logistics in Saudi Arabia both use this approach: a short step-by-step quote form on the first screen and a clear WhatsApp option. You can see both in our work section.
